The Tree Festival – early 2003 or late 02. Not sure the exact date – anyone?
We joined Kashi Art Cafe’s Campaign to save the Giant Raintree’s of Fort Cochin: With Sunset Man and the sun setting on a backdrop of ‘Chainese’ fishing nets.
Not to mention a dockyard full of local fishermen rocking along!
Brigade road goes down in Fort Cochin.
Not to miss our good ol back drop bowin in the wind and the bamboo stage.
Rajeev gets down an dirty at the Gundoo Island Gig.
This was a day before the Tree Fest. We got a private gig signed up with the Taj Malabar.
If only we new what we were in for!
This picture (which only Guru could have taken?) kinda captures the mood of the gig later on!
We had our own P.A. All the stage gear. And a ferry to the island. The stage was set up in the middle of the island, a mile away… with a wheel barrow and Elsa the Airport trolley to get us a cross that mile of soft beach sand!
Sea Breeze and pedestal fans – and Rajeev’s full-works-kit…
And finally – the morning after – the big chill:
We just got off the boat at some 5 a.m. Unloaded the gear off the boat and onto the Tempo Traveller. Totally doggered! And then I saw the infinity pool. So while everyone else crash out into the comforts of the Taj, Rajeev and me dived into the pool. Caught Rajeev in this early morning light with the ole Canon AT… shortly before we headed off to steam out at the Spa!
